The polyurethane round curved arch profile P14D20D80VI50 is a high-density decorative molding engineered to establish smooth circular architectural lines across ceilings, walls, and transition spaces. It provides elegant framing for interior walls while forming classic arch surrounds over exterior doors and windows. Molded using advanced precision casting technology, it imparts architectural depth and character to any environment.
Featuring exterior dimensions of 527x527 mm, a depth of 49 mm, and a density of 150-220 kg/m³, the product demonstrates superior resistance to impacts, abrasion, and ambient moisture. Its closed-cell structure with less than 1% water absorption prevents swelling or decay in wet zones and outdoors. Furthermore, it retains its structural shape across a wide temperature range of -20 °C / +70 °C.
As shown in the profile view, the cross-section presents a fluid curved profile enhanced with stepped channels and projecting ridge details. When combined, its modular circular form creates a complete arch circle or niche frame. The smooth factory surface finish ensures an immaculate result once painted.
Its application areas are remarkably broad; it is frequently selected for living room wall niches, door and window surrounds, ceiling medallion borders, and hallway arch transitions. Its lightweight construction allows for decorative enrichments without imposing structural loads on building facades. When coated with UV-resistant paint outdoors, it withstands adverse weather conditions for many years.
During installation, polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive is applied to the rear surface, and mechanical screwing is added for reinforced stability. Joints and screw recesses are filled with sandable spackle and smoothed before proceeding to paint. Unlike heavy plaster moldings that break easily or wood that succumbs to moisture, this product provides a practical and reliable installation process.
The factory primer coat prepares the profile for immediate painting; however, applying an additional primer layer depends on client preference according to paint manufacturer warranty requirements. With its durable build and detailed profile lines, it offers a lasting architectural decoration solution.
- This polyurethane round curved arch profile offers broad application flexibility for both interior and exterior architecture
- Indoors, it is ideal for elegant wall niche framing in living and dining rooms, oval arch transitions in hallways, and circular ceiling accents
- It can also serve as decorative door and window surround enhancements in hotel lobbies, restaurants, villas, and concept stores
- Externally, it functions as window arch ornamentation, entrance pediments, or belt molding intersections
- Thanks to its water-resistant properties, it can be safely installed in humid environments such as bathrooms and spas
- The mounting surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease
- Apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to the rear of the product and position it against the wall or ceiling in alignment
- Due to its curved and wide profile, mechanical fastening (screws/anchors) at suitable points is required alongside the adhesive
- Silicone-based adhesives must not be used
- Cover screw heads and joints with suitable filler, sand smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper, and the surface will be ready for painting
- Maintaining the polyurethane curved arch profile is quick and simple
- Dust and light dirt can be wiped away using a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid cleaning agents containing acids, thinners, or harsh chemical solvents
- For painted surfaces, minor stains can be wiped clean with water-based cleaners
- For exterior applications, periodic surface cleaning every few years helps preserve the vibrancy of the paint finish
Can the polyurethane round curved arch be used on exterior facades?
Yes, the polyurethane round curved arch features a closed-cell structure that makes it highly resistant to water and moisture, allowing safe exterior use. However, unpainted polyurethane can degrade under direct sunlight over time, so exterior applications must be finished with a high-quality UV-resistant outdoor paint.
Which adhesive and mounting methods should be used during installation?
Only polyurethane (PU) based assembly adhesive should be used for installation. Silicone adhesives do not provide long-term bonding on polyurethane materials. For safe mounting, mechanical screw support is required in addition to the adhesive.
Is the product ready for painting, and is additional primer required?
The product is shipped factory-primed and ready for paint application. However, because paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee coverage unless their own primers are applied, applying an additional primer coat depends entirely on customer preference and site conditions.
What are the advantages of polyurethane arches compared to plaster arches?
Plaster arches are heavy, brittle, and susceptible to moisture damage. Polyurethane arches, with an optimal density of 150-220 kg/m³, are lightweight, resistant to cracking or breaking, have a water absorption rate under 1%, and provide easy transport and installation.
What are the dimensions and curvature measurements of this product?
The P14D20D80VI50 model has exterior dimensions of 527x527 mm and a profile depth of 49 mm. It features an inner curve radius of 40 cm, making it ideal for creating full circular arch shapes when assembled.
