Inspired by the magnificent architecture of ancient Rome, Polure's Short Roman Columns blend with modern manufacturing techniques to bring timeless elegance to your living spaces. Crafted from a high-density specialized material, these columns eliminate the heavy and laborious installation processes of traditional stone or marble columns, creating an aesthetic revolution in both interior and exterior spaces. Each Short Roman Column embodies the characteristic lines of Roman architecture with its capital, shaft, and base forms, while its special surface structure flawlessly accepts all types of paint applications.
Integrating Classical Forms into Contemporary Spaces
Roman columns, one of the most distinctive symbols in architectural history, have been reinterpreted in their short forms as functional art objects in contemporary decor. Circular models like P83000 and P83001 in our catalog create a sophisticated focal point without disrupting the vertical perception of the space. Beyond being mere visual embellishments, these products are structural-looking decorative elements that enhance the overall ambiance of a space. With shaft diameters of approximately 350-356 mm and heights reaching up to 1070 mm (e.g., model P83005), they offer a proportion harmonious with human scale, evoking a sense of grandeur without overwhelming the space. These `decorative short column` models are ideal for adding depth to the designs of architects and interior designers.
High-Performance Material: Aesthetics and Durability Combined
Unlike traditional plaster or concrete casting materials, Short Roman Columns are produced using advanced casting methods. The closed-cell structure of the material completely prevents water and moisture penetration, thereby preventing the product from cracking, flaking, or yellowing. The sharp details and intricate motifs observed in models like P83000D and P83001C are maintained to the same standard in every product thanks to CNC-supported mold technology. The advantage of lightness ensures that the products do not create additional structural load during installation, offering great convenience, especially in renovation projects and mezzanine applications. This high-density material not only exhibits superior resistance to impacts but also maintains its form against UV rays and fluctuating temperatures in exterior conditions.
Design Variety: Circular Columns and Pilasters
The Short Roman Columns category offers a wide range of products to meet diverse design needs. Circular short Roman column models (e.g., P83001I) can be used as standalone art pieces in the center of a space or as an aesthetic accent in wall corners. Pilasters, or half-column forms, are applied flush against wall surfaces, adding depth and dimension to the space. Circular forms offer a 360-degree aesthetic, making them suitable as room dividers or elegant pedestals for objects like busts and sculptures. Pilaster forms, on the other hand, create magnificent vertical lines in wall paneling projects, serving as the strongest representatives of the neoclassical style. These `Roman style short column` options can adapt to any architectural project.
Unlimited Combination Possibilities in Architectural Projects
These Short Roman Columns, when combined with Polure's other decorative moldings, cornices, and base products, create a complete architectural harmony. Models with specific dimensions like P83000I and P83001D can be positioned as aesthetic supports in window sill decorations, at the start of stair railings, or alongside fireplaces. The factory-primed surface of the products ensures excellent adhesion of the final coat of paint after installation. The character of the columns can be completely transformed to match the space's overall color palette using gold leaf, aging techniques, or plain lacquer paints. This flexibility allows designers the freedom to use the same product in ultra-modern, rustic, or `antique short column` style spaces.
Usage Areas
Short Roman Columns offer versatile usage potential in both interior and exterior applications. They can be used in pairs in spacious entrances and hallways to create an impressive portal effect, leaving a monumental first impression on guests. In the living rooms and dining areas of luxury residences, they can be placed next to buffets or consoles to highlight displayed artworks or special objects. In commercial spaces such as hotel lobbies, boutique store displays, and high-end restaurants, they create focal points that enhance brand prestige and define the character of the space. For exterior applications, they add a classic touch to facades when used on either side of villa entrance doors, at specific points along garden walls, or at the beginning of terrace railings. These `decorative short column` models can serve as pedestals for sculptures in poolside areas or landscape designs, enriching outdoor aesthetics.
Installation
Installing Short Roman Columns is remarkably practical and effortless, thanks to their lightweight construction. Before beginning the application, it is crucial that the floor and wall surfaces are completely free of dust, oil, and moisture. After carefully checking the product dimensions, an even amount of a special adhesive with high bonding strength, such as Polifix, should be applied to the capital and base sections. Once the column is in place, its vertical alignment should be checked with a level, and it should be secured with temporary supports until the adhesive is fully cured. Any hairline gaps that may occur at joints or additional sections should be sealed using acrylic-based filler or a special filler material compatible with the product. After the filler material dries, the surface should be smoothed with 180-220 grit fine sandpaper. During the painting stage, it is recommended to use water-based acrylic or silicone paints, which will give the product's surface a long-lasting and aesthetic finish.
Care Information
Maintenance of Polure Short Roman Columns is extremely easy, thanks to their non-porous and smooth surface structure. For daily cleaning, simply wipe away dust with a soft, damp cloth. Abrasive chemicals, acid-based cleaners, or granular detergents that could damage the surface structure should be strictly avoided. A general inspection, typically once a year, ensures that the products retain their original splendor for many years. Under normal usage conditions, these `polyurethane short Roman column` products offer long-lasting performance, while resistance to deformations such as expansion, contraction, or sagging depends on conditions. Minor scratches or damages that may occur on the surface due to an impact can be easily repaired with suitable acrylic fillers and then painted over.
