Ceiling Rose Models: Dimensions, Profiles, and Cornice Harmony
A ceiling rose (or medallion) is a decorative element designed to frame the focal point where chandeliers or light fixtures are mounted. It defines the center of the ceiling and harmonizes with coving and cornices to complete the architectural design.
As a manufacturer, we design ceiling roses and cornices within matching profile families. When the ornamental detail is consistent, the ceiling presents a unified aesthetic. Our range of decorative ceiling medallions spans from minimalist recessed panels to ornate acanthus leaf designs.
Live production data: size range 302-1888 mm · profile cross-section 34 × 302 mm - 110 × 1506 mm · catalog model count 26.
Products are manufactured in a density range of 150-220 kg/m³ (production target ~160 kg/m³), supplied with white 1K acrylic primer, and installed using PU-based mounting adhesive; sets within about one hour. For a cohesive layout, choose a ceiling medallion and cornice pair from the same design family.
The polyurethane ceiling rose models in the Polure collection combine classic architectural aesthetics with modern polymer engineering. In interior design, ceilings are considered the fifth wall; enhancing them fundamentally elevates the room's character. High-density rigid polyurethane (PU) technology provides a durable alternative to heavy, fragile plaster. With a density of 150-220 kg/m³ (production target ~160 kg/m³), these designs deliver wood-like firmness without placing excessive load on ceiling structures.
Architectural Diversity and Size Options
Designed for projects of all scales, our Ceiling Rose and Dome collection ranges from minimal motifs to grand architectural statements. For instance, compact 30 cm diameter designs (such as model P291) provide subtle elegance in narrow hallways or smaller bedrooms. For grand living rooms, hotel lobbies, or ballrooms, magnificent models reaching up to 188 cm in diameter (such as P7119D117) create striking visual centerpieces. Styles span Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical, and modern minimalist trends. Clean, symmetrical profiles like P441 and P641 reflect neoclassical restraint, while the multi-tiered detailing of the P7118 and P7119 series brings palace grandeur to ceilings.
Technical Performance and Durability
Polure ceiling roses and domes are engineered to satisfy strict technical requirements as well as aesthetic standards. Featuring a closed-cell structure, their water absorption rate is under 1%. They will not swell, rot, or lose shape when exposed to humidity, steam, or direct contact with water. Capable of maintaining dimensional stability across temperatures ranging from -100 °C / +80 °C, they resist expansion, shrinkage, and cracking. Additionally, the B2 fire-rated polymer composition is flame-retardant and self-extinguishing once the direct flame source is removed.
Installation Efficiency and Low Maintenance
Weighing significantly less than traditional plaster counterparts, these elements streamline handling and installation while eliminating breakage risks during transit. Each item comes factory-primed, providing an ideal base for all water-based or solvent-based paints. Post-installation, the surfaces can be sanded, filled, and repainted as interior decor schemes evolve. Engineered to resist sagging and warping over time, this system keeps maintenance requirements exceptionally low.
- Lightweight and Secure: Up to 90% lighter than plaster, making them safe for suspended and standard ceilings.
- Crisp Ornamental Detail: Precision molding captures delicate floral and sharp geometric relief lines cleanly.
- Moisture Resistant: Closed-cell structure makes them ideal for humid environments such as bathrooms and indoor pools.
- Durable Structure: Impact-resistant construction that won't yellow, crumble, or degrade over time.
Usage Areas
Ceiling Rose and Dome designs define the architectural center of ceilings across various interior and exterior settings. Indoors, they serve as elegant lighting medallions around chandeliers in living rooms, formal lounges, grand foyers, and bedrooms. In hallways, repeating small medallions (such as model P291) can be aligned sequentially to enhance depth and perspective. These elements can also be mounted on walls within panel moldings as decorative bas-relief features. In commercial spaces—including hotel lobbies, restaurant dining rooms, conference centers, villas, and event halls—they add visual grandeur. Externally, they accentuate entrance soffits, porch overhangs, and exterior ceiling details. For exterior installations, painting with UV-resistant exterior paint is required to shield the material from solar exposure.
Installation
Installing Polure Ceiling Roses and Domes is straightforward when proper methods are followed. Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, free of dust, and cleared of loose material. Mark the center point aligned with the electrical wiring, and drill a central hole for cable feed-through. Trim or miter edges at 45 degrees if necessary. Apply Polure Polfix PU adhesive to the back surface; do not use silicone-based adhesives. Regardless of the medallion's weight, mechanical fixing with screws is REQUIRED for ultimate safety. Fill joint seams and screw heads with high-grade joint filler. Once dry, sand smooth using 180–220 grit sandpaper. Apply a primer layer over the factory-primed surface, followed by at least two coats of water-based or solvent-based paint. Exterior applications strictly require UV-resistant exterior paint to resist sunlight exposure.
Care Information
Maintaining Polure Ceiling Rose and Dome products is simple due to the material's resilient properties. Antistatic surface features minimize dust accumulation. For routine cleaning, wipe with a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid aggressive chemical solvents like thinners or acetone, as well as abrasive sponges that could damage the painted coating or polymer surface. Highly resistant to impacts and moisture, these elements offer a service life exceeding 20 years. If minor surface damage occurs from an impact, it can be repaired easily with acrylic filler, sanded smooth, and spot-painted to restore its pristine finish.
