Professional Details in Wall and Ceiling Decorations
\nIn wall paneling and wainscoting applications—key elements of classical and neoclassical architecture—the joint connections of profiles are aesthetically critical. Moulding Corner designs eliminate the hassle of complex miter cuts where wall and ceiling profiles meet, ensuring a seamless transition. High-density rigid polyurethane moulding corner elements save labor in architectural projects while preserving the integrity of the surface motifs. These specialized pieces eliminate the need for difficult 45-degree angled cuts at the intersections of plain or patterned wall profiles, maintaining pattern continuity for a professional, flawless finish.
\n\nTechnical Parameters and Material Structure
\nOur products are manufactured with a density of 150-200 kg/m³, offering a hardness comparable to wood. This structural density ensures high impact resistance while keeping the material exceptionally lightweight. The technical specifications of this closed-cell polymer material include:
\n- \n
- Density Values: Ranging between 150-200 kg/m³, its lightweight nature prevents any additional load on the building structure. \n
- Temperature Resistance: No deformation or expansion occurs even under harsh climatic conditions ranging from -20°C to +80°C. \n
- Water Absorption Rate: With a closed-cell structure under 1%, it is completely unaffected by moisture, humidity, and water. \n
- Dimensional Stability: Features a stable structure that does not shrink, expand, warp, or bend over time. \n
- Fire Behavior: Flame-retardant and self-extinguishing once the ignition source is removed. \n
Pattern Variety and Dimensional Alternatives
\nTo accommodate various design scales, our product range includes decorative moulding corner elements in diverse dimensions. The P82024A (710x710 mm) model, which makes a grand statement in spacious living rooms and high ceilings, is ideal for large-scale framing designs. For more minimal and understated spaces, ornate corner moulding alternatives such as P82010F (190mm) or P82010B (224mm) can be preferred. Models like P82017A, P82015C, P82012A, and P82015A sharply reflect the intricate details of classical motifs on the surface. Patterned corner borders like P82009A help establish a hierarchical aesthetic order on walls. These products act as works of art at the corners of wall frames, adding depth and dimension to any space.
\n\nSurface Preparation and Painting Guidelines
\nOur products are shipped from the factory with a specialized primer coat, which facilitates better adhesion of the topcoat. However, paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done directly without their own primers. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat after installation is entirely optional and at the user's discretion. Polure assumes no responsibility for the performance of the applied topcoat. For interiors, water-based or synthetic paints can be preferred. For exterior applications, UV-resistant paints are mandatory; otherwise, unpainted rigid PU surfaces may yellow over time.
\n\nSuperior Advantages Over Traditional Materials
\nManufactured using rigid foam technology, these elements completely eliminate the disadvantages of plaster decorations, such as heavy weight and fragility. Unlike wood, they do not rot from moisture, warp, or attract pests over time. Compared to EPS polystyrene materials, they are significantly harder, smoother, and offer much higher detail resolution. Easily fillable, sandable, and paintable, they provide a long-lasting structure that is simple to repair when necessary. These features make them the preferred choice across a wide spectrum, from luxury residential projects to historical restoration works.
Usage Areas
Moulding corner elements offer a wide range of applications. In interior design, they are used for wall framing in living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways, as well as borders around ceiling medallions. With a water absorption rate under 1%, they are safely preferred in high-humidity wet areas like kitchens and bathrooms. On exteriors, they are applied to window jamb edges, entrance pediments, and floor cornices as decorative moulding corners to achieve a precast look. They are also ideal for completing wall panel designs in prestigious commercial projects such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, and administrative buildings.
Installation
For a flawless installation, the application surface must be completely clean, dry, and smooth. The installation steps are as follows:\n1. Alignment: Mark the exact positions of the corner elements on the wall using a laser level.\n2. Adhesion: Apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to the grooves on the back of the product and contact surfaces. Never use silicone-based adhesives for installation.\n3. Mechanical Fastening: Mechanical fastening with screws or nails is mandatory to prevent slipping until the adhesive cures.\n4. Filling and Sanding: Fill joints and screw holes with a high-quality exterior filler. Once dry, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper.\n5. Painting: After an optional additional primer coat, apply at least 2 coats of water-based paint for interiors or UV-resistant paint for exteriors.
Care Information
Maintenance of PU corner elements with a closed-cell structure is highly practical. Dust on the surface can be easily cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive chemicals or harsh solvent-based detergents during cleaning. Thanks to its high impact-resistant rigid structure, it does not deform; however, in case of physical damage, it can be easily repaired with filler, lightly sanded, and repainted.
