Manufactured by Polure, the P5840B50 half column shaft is a premium decorative element that adds subtle depth to spaces with its flat, smooth surface. Thanks to its semi-circular cross-section, this product easily integrates into wall surfaces. It is designed to aesthetically clad structural elements or create freestanding decorative columns in both interior and exterior facade projects.

With dimensions of 200 mm in width, 400 mm in depth, and 2400 mm in height, the product offers an ideal scale that emphasizes vertical lines. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), the shaft features a durable structure with the hardness of wood. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, preventing swelling, rotting, or deformation in humid environments, under rain, or outdoors. It maintains its dimensional stability without expanding at temperatures between -20°C and +80°C.

As seen in the visuals, the clean and minimalist lines of the product avoid complex ornamentation, seamlessly blending with neoclassical and modern architectural concepts. The smooth semi-cylindrical form is highly suitable for concealing existing load-bearing reinforced concrete or steel columns, aesthetically covering pipework, or adding three-dimensional movement to flat wall surfaces. It can be combined with optional bases and capitals to achieve a complete column appearance.

Boasting a wide range of applications, this architectural element is an ideal decorative solution for hotel lobbies, restaurants, villa entrances, terraces, and spacious salons. Indoors, it can be used to frame doorways or create symmetrical panels behind TV units. On exterior facades, it is preferred under eaves, on both sides of entrance doors, or integrated with floor moldings to add depth to the building facade.

Extremely lightweight compared to heavy and fragile alternatives like plaster or marble, it imposes no additional static load on the building and offers a much more practical installation. During installation, Polure Polfix adhesive should be applied to the cleaned surface, followed by mechanical fastening with screws. Once joints and screw holes are filled and sanded, the final coat of paint is applied over the factory-primed surface. For outdoor applications, UV-resistant paint should be preferred to protect the material from UV rays.
