P215B Decorative door and window pediment crown molding for arches
Designed to perfectly match the P215B crown molding, the P82058 border trim creates a seamless transition. This combination enhances your door and window frames with a classic architectural touch.
Frequently Used Together
The P215B model is a decorative top finishing element designed to emphasize door, window, and wall panel transitions in classic architectural projects. With a width of 128 cm, a height of 29 cm, and a depth of 6.4 cm, this cornice instantly adds volume and depth to the surface it's applied to. Blending traditional details with modern production standards, this piece provides a balanced visual transition, especially at ceiling-wall intersections or at the apex of door frames.
Manufactured from rigid polyurethane raw material with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this model boasts surface strength comparable to wood. Its lightweight structure prevents it from adding significant load to the building during installation and offers ease of transport. Its closed-cell structure keeps water absorption below 1%, providing resistance against adverse external factors such as humidity, dampness, and rot. This technical durability allows the product to be used for many years without losing its form, both in humid indoor areas like bathrooms and under challenging exterior facade conditions.
Examining the design, the symmetrical leafy floral motif in the center and the acanthus leaf scrolls supporting it are striking. The stepped lower profile line softens the transition to the flat surface, highlighting the rich relief carvings above. This symmetrical and balanced form allows architects who prefer classical and neoclassical designs to create focal points in their projects. Its smooth and sharp lines ensure that details become more pronounced through the interplay of light and shadow.
This decorative cornice is frequently chosen for the upper architraves of wide living room doors, as fireplace overmantel decorations, or in headboard wall paneling. On exterior facades, it can be positioned as a keystone for window frame systems or above entrance doors. It is a critical detail that completes architectural integrity in prestigious areas such as hotel lobbies, classic villas, and restoration projects.
Compared to traditional materials like plaster and wood, its non-cracking and non-breaking structure offers significant ease of installation. The factory-primed surface is prepared to facilitate paint adhesion. However, as paint manufacturers have their own primer standards, applying an additional primer before painting is entirely at the user's discretion. Installation is safely carried out with Polure Polfix adhesive and mechanical screwing.
- The P215B polyurethane cornice model finds its place in both interior decorations and exterior facade designs with its versatile range of uses
- Indoors, it is used for crowning the upper part of wide door frames in living room and hallway transitions
- In wall paneling (wainscoting) applications, it serves as an elegant finishing element defining the upper boundary of the panels
- In classic fireplace designs, it offers aesthetic depth as a decorative support above the fireplace
- On exterior facades, it is applied as a window cornice, especially when combined with the upper architrave profiles of windows
- It is ideal for imparting a classic character to facades in villa entrances, hotel lobbies, and historical building restorations
- Thanks to its paintable surface, it is protected with UV-resistant exterior paints on facades, making it resistant to weather conditions
- Due to its width, it can be used as a single piece on large-scale windows or extended modularly by joining pieces side-by-side
- It is also preferred in bedroom wall decorations behind headboards to create a focal point
- For the installation of the P215B cornice model, the application surface must first be clean, dry, and smooth
- The product is placed on the wall or facade by applying Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to its rear surface
- Although not heavy, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory for complete security and stabilization
- Screw holes and joints are filled with a suitable exterior facade filler
- After the filler dries, the surface is smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Although the factory-applied primer coating provides a paint-ready surface, applying an additional primer may be optionally preferred for the longevity of the paint to be used
- In the final stage, the process is completed by painting with at least two coats of water-based paint for interior use, or UV-resistant exterior facade paint for outdoor applications
- This decorative cornice, made from polyurethane material, offers long-lasting use with its minimal maintenance requirements
- Indoors, accumulated dust can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth
- Abrasive chemicals, acidic liquids, or stiff brushes should not be used during cleaning
- For exterior facade applications, checking the surface once a year and cleaning it with water if necessary is sufficient
- If you wish to refresh its color or change the decoration over time, you can lightly sand the surface and repaint it with water-based or synthetic paint of your desired color
Can it be used on exterior facades, is it weather-resistant?
Yes, thanks to its closed-cell structure, the P215B model is resistant to water and humidity. It can be safely used on exterior facades above windows and doors. However, for outdoor applications, it must be painted with UV-resistant exterior facade paint to prevent damage from sunlight.
Which adhesive should be used for installation?
To ensure excellent adhesion and longevity during installation, only Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive should be used. Silicone-based adhesives are not suitable for this material. Additionally, mechanical fastening of the product with screws is mandatory.
Does the product come painted, or is primer application necessary?
The product is shipped with a factory-applied white primer-coated surface, which is ready for paint. However, since paint manufacturers may recommend an additional primer for their system guarantees, re-priming before painting is optional and depends on the customer's preference.
What are its advantages compared to plaster or wood cornices?
polyurethane cornices are much lighter and impact-resistant compared to plaster. Unlike wood, they do not warp, crack, or suffer from insect infestation due to moisture. They clearly reflect fine details, and their installation is much faster and more practical.
Are its dimensions suitable for every door or window?
The product has a width of 128 cm and a height of 29 cm. These dimensions are ideal for standard and wide door/window openings. For narrower areas, it can be sized by cutting from the edges with a precision saw, and for wider areas, it can be extended modularly by joining pieces side-by-side.
