P215 Decorative Door Window and Arch Pediment Crown Molding
Create a cohesive architectural look by pairing the P215 pediment with the matching P82058 decorative border trim. This combination offers a seamless transition for elegant door and window frames.
Frequently Used Together
The P215 decorative polyurethane pediment combines classical architectural aesthetics with modern material technology, designed as a premium ornamental element to create a stunning focal point above doors and windows. It offers an ideal decorative solution for architects, interior designers, and property owners looking to add a prestigious touch to both interior and exterior spaces. Frequently preferred in classical, neoclassical, or eclectic projects, this product adds rich depth to any surface it is applied to.
Boasting superior technical standards, the product is designed with dimensions of 1280 mm in width, 230 mm in height, and 54 mm in depth. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this pediment offers the hardness of wood while remaining exceptionally lightweight compared to traditional plaster or stone alternatives. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, preventing rotting, molding, or swelling even in humid environments. It fully retains its shape and dimensional stability in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
The design details of the product showcase a symmetrical and balanced relief art. A prominent central oval medallion (keystone effect) is flanked by elegantly curving spiral motifs (volutes) and wrapped in finely crafted leaf details. This classical relief composition is supported by a geometric bead-and-reel profile at the bottom, creating a cohesive architectural frame.
Offering a wide range of applications, the P215 is delivered factory-primed in white. This primer coat prepares the surface for the final topcoat. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional coat of primer after installation is optional and left to the customer's preference. The product can be easily painted with water-based or synthetic paints; however, for outdoor applications, using UV-resistant paints is essential to protect against sunlight.
Thanks to its lightweight structure, the product simplifies the installation process, significantly reducing labor time compared to traditional materials. During installation, Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive should be applied to the rear surfaces, followed by mechanical fastening with screws. Once the screw heads and joints are puttied and sanded, the painting process can begin. This ensures a crack-free, long-lasting, and flawless decorative finish.
- The P215 polyurethane pediment offers versatile application possibilities for both interior and exterior designs
- On exteriors, it serves as an elegant horizontal finishing element at the top of window casing systems in villa or residential projects
- It creates a grand, welcoming entrance above main entry doors
- Indoors, it is highly preferred in spacious living rooms for wall molding and paneling projects, as a decorative crown behind headboards, or above fireplaces
- It is also an excellent alternative for creating focal points in wall-to-ceiling transitions in hotel lobbies, restaurants, niches, and classically styled offices
- With its 128 cm width, it perfectly fits the top frames of standard single-leaf doors
- The installation surface must be completely free of dust, dirt, and moisture
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the rear mounting surfaces of the P215 polyurethane pediment
- After placing the product on the wall, mechanical fastening with screws must be performed to prevent slippage until the adhesive cures
- Screw holes and any gaps at the wall joints should be filled with acrylic or exterior-grade putty
- Once the putty dries, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Optionally (and in accordance with paint manufacturers' warranty terms), after applying an additional coat of primer, complete the installation with two coats of water-based paint for interiors or UV-resistant paint for exteriors
- Polyurethane pediments are low-maintenance, long-lasting materials
- Dust accumulation in interior spaces can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth
- For exterior applications, dust and mud residues on the surface can be washed away with high-pressure water
- Avoid using abrasive chemicals, wire brushes, or harsh solvents that could damage the surface during cleaning
- For exterior installations, it is recommended to inspect the painted surface every few years and refresh it if necessary to maintain color vibrancy and ongoing UV protection
