- Perform mechanical fixing with countersunk screws anchored directly into wall plugs; relying solely on chemical adhesive is non-compliant.
- Set mechanical fasteners at regular intervals along the shaft to prevent movement while the polyurethane adhesive cures.
Joint Filling, Sanding, and Exterior Painting
After the polyurethane adhesive cures, seal countersunk screw heads and joint seams with an exterior-grade filler. Once dried, sand the joints smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper to achieve a seamless profile across the fluted grooves.
For exterior applications, applying a dedicated UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory to prevent surface degradation from direct sunlight. Apply a minimum of 2 coats of topcoat paint over the prepared shaft, capital, and base profile.
