The P85060 polyurethane skirting board is designed to elegantly bridge the transition between floors and walls, providing a clean, architectural finish to any space. Featuring a graceful upper curve and a sleek, flat body, its design blends seamlessly with both classic and modern interior styles. With a height of 12.2 cm, it creates a well-balanced vertical profile that stands out beautifully in rooms with standard ceiling heights.
Engineered from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this profile offers mechanical durability comparable to solid wood. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, water absorption is under 1%, preventing swelling, shrinking, or rotting when exposed to moisture, humidity, and water. It maintains its dimensional stability and shape in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
The product is shipped with a smooth, factory-applied white primer. While this pre-primed surface prepares the profile for the topcoat, paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee performance over third-party primers. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat before or after installation is optional and at the customer's discretion. Polure does not assume liability for the performance of applied paints. For outdoor applications, using UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect against sun damage.
Compared to traditional wood, MDF, or plaster baseboards, it is highly impact-resistant, crack-proof, and completely immune to insect infestation. Its lightweight design ensures quick installation without putting excess load on the walls. It offers a long-lasting, maintenance-free flooring solution for both residential and commercial projects.
- The P85060 skirting board is ideal for both interior and exterior spaces where high resistance to moisture, impacts, and wear is required at floor-to-wall joints
- It creates an elegant border in high-traffic areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and entryways
- With its negligible water absorption rate, it can be safely used in wet areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and spas, unlike its wooden counterparts
- When properly painted, it is also suitable for outdoor use, enclosed balconies, patios, and semi-open commercial spaces
- For interior designers, it serves as the perfect base anchor to complement wall paneling and wainscoting projects
- The installation surface must be dry, clean, and free of dust
- Profile corners should be cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter box
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the mounting grooves on the back of the profile and press it onto the wall
- In addition to the adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws or nails from discreet points is mandatory to ensure the profile is fully secured
- Joint lines and screw holes should be filled with acrylic filler and sanded smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional extra coat of primer, complete the installation by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Polyurethane skirting boards are highly practical to maintain
- They can be cleaned periodically by wiping with a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive acids, thinners, or harsh chemical solvents during cleaning
- Any minor scratches or dents caused by heavy impacts over time can be easily repaired by light sanding, applying filler, and spot-painting the affected area
