Designed to create a clean, modern, and seamless transition where walls and floors meet, the P180100 polyurethane baseboard profile plays a crucial finishing role in interior design. Going beyond traditional trims, it conceals cable runs and covers minor paint or plaster imperfections along the wall base, bringing architectural sophistication to your living spaces. With its minimalist lines and highly functional structure, it is the ideal choice for both residential and commercial projects.
Boasting superior technical specifications, this profile is manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³). Offering a hardness comparable to wood yet remaining remarkably lightweight, the product features a balanced scale with a height of 10 cm, a thickness of 1.7 cm, and a standard length of 240 cm. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below one percent, preventing structural damage such as swelling, rotting, or warping in humid environments.
Visually, the profile features a sleek, flat front surface. This clean body terminates at the top with a soft, rounded bevel (chamfer) that rests elegantly against the wall. The rear channels serve a dual purpose: they enhance adhesive grip during installation and provide a convenient pathway to run thin cables. This modern, fluid form blends seamlessly with Scandinavian, industrial, or neo-classical interior design styles.
It is perfectly suited for high-traffic areas requiring high impact resistance, such as entryways, hallways, living rooms, and office spaces, as well as moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Unlike fragile plaster alternatives or wood counterparts prone to mold and insect infestation, it retains its pristine shape for years. It offers maximum resistance against vacuum cleaner bumps and pet scratches.
For installation, the profile should be secured to a clean surface using Polure Polfix adhesive and mechanically reinforced with screws. The product comes factory-primed in white with a smooth finish. Since paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee results without their own primer, applying an additional coat of primer post-installation is optional. The baseboard can be easily finished with two coats of water-based or synthetic interior paint.
- This baseboard profile is designed exclusively for interior use
- It is ideal for creating clean floor transitions in high-traffic residential areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, kids' rooms, and entryways
- Thanks to its moisture resistance, it serves as a reliable alternative to wooden skirting boards in wet areas like bathrooms, restrooms, and kitchens
- Additionally, it acts as a highly impact-resistant protective barrier and aesthetic detail in high-traffic commercial spaces, including hotel corridors, modern offices, restaurants, and retail stores
- It also offers a practical solution for concealing thin internet or power cables running along the base of the wall
- The application wall surface must be dry, clean, and level
- The profile should be cut at 45-degree angles using a fine-toothed hand saw or a miter saw
- Apply only Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product; silicon-based adhesives must be avoided
- Once pressed against the wall, the profile should be mechanically secured with screws until the adhesive cures
- Fill screw heads and joints with acrylic filler, and sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper once dry
- Complete the installation by optionally applying an extra coat of primer, followed by two coats of water-based or synthetic interior paint
- Thanks to its high-density structure, maintenance requirements are minimal
- For daily cleaning, simply wipe down with a damp cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemical solvents, bleach, or abrasive surface cleaners, as they may damage the paint layer
- Over the years, minor deformations from deep scratches or heavy impacts can easily be restored to their original appearance by lightly sanding the affected area, applying filler, and repainting
Can the P180100 be used in humid areas like bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes, this baseboard model features a closed-cell structure with a water absorption rate under 1%. This allows it to be used safely in high-humidity wet areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and restrooms without swelling, rotting, or deteriorating.
What are its advantages over wood or MDF baseboards?
Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details.
Which adhesive should I use during installation?
To ensure excellent adhesion and long-lasting durability, only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used. Silicone or low-quality instant glues may cause the material to detach from the wall over time.
Can the product be used directly in white without painting?
The product comes factory-coated with a white protective primer. However, to prevent surface dirt and yellowing over time, and to completely hide screw heads and filler marks from installation, we highly recommend painting it with interior paint post-installation.
Is it resistant to vacuum cleaner bumps and impacts?
Yes, with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, it offers a hardness close to wood. It is highly durable against vacuum cleaner impacts, furniture friction, and pet scratches, meaning it won't easily dent or crack.
