Above-fireplace Crown

An above-fireplace crown is a profiled, projecting polyurethane band placed on the topmost edge of a fireplace unit. It is used to crown the upper section of a decorative fireplace and create a classic finish and transition. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the crown stays the same along its profile and the corner joints sit cleanly. Being lighter than plaster or timber equivalents makes installation in the upper area easier. Polure produces the above-fireplace crown in a range of profile heights and sizes.
