This density provides a hardness comparable to wood while keeping the product exceptionally lightweight. The closed-cell structure of the material offers several key technical advantages:
- Water Absorption Rate: Below 1%. It does not absorb moisture, rot, or decay even in wet weather conditions.
- Temperature Resistance: Maintains structural integrity without deformation at temperatures ranging from -100 °C / +80 °C.
- Dimensional Stability: No structural deformations such as shrinkage, expansion, or warping due to temperature fluctuations.
- Fire Rating: Flame-retardant and features self-extinguishing properties once the flame source is removed.
- Surface Preparation: Shipped pre-primed with a factory-applied undercoat.
Important Information on Priming and Painting Processes
The factory primer on our trim ornaments prepares the surface for paint adhesion. However, paint manufacturers do not guarantee paint performance unless their own brand-specific primers are applied first. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat after installation is optional and left to the customer's discretion. Polure does not accept liability or provide warranties for the performance of applied paints. For exterior applications, a UV-resistant exterior paint must be used to prevent the unpainted rigid PU material from yellowing under sunlight. For interior spaces, water-based or synthetic paints can be preferred.

Installation
Installing decorative trim ornaments requires specific technical steps to ensure long-lasting results: 1. Surface Preparation: The application surface must be clean, dust-free, dry, and free of moisture. 2. Cutting: A 45-degree miter cut should be made for corner joints. 3. Gluing: Apply a polyurethane (PU) construction adhesive to the back of the product. Silicone adhesives must not be used. 4. Mechanical Fastening: For exterior applications and large pieces, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory. 5. Finishing and Filling: Joints and screw heads must be filled with an exterior-grade putty, and once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper. 6. Painting: Finally, after an optional extra primer coat, apply at least 2 coats of UV-resistant exterior paint.
Care Information
Rigid PU decorative trim ornaments are highly durable and virtually maintenance-free. For cleaning, simply wipe away surface dust using a slightly damp, soft cloth without any chemical solvents. Avoid abrasive chemicals, as they can damage the paint layer. For exterior applications, depending on the paint's condition, lightly sanding and recoating with UV-resistant paint every few years will further extend the product's lifespan.
