Minimalist Lines in Modern Wall Paneling
In modern interior design, clean and simple lines enhance the sense of order and serenity within a space. The Plain Molding Corner is a sleek design element free from complex patterns, designed to create seamless intersections in wall and ceiling paneling projects. Developed as a superior alternative to the fragile nature of traditional plaster and the moisture-induced warping risks of wood, these high-density rigid polyurethane (PU) elements bring long-lasting durability to your projects. With a density of 150-200 kg/m³, this specialized formula offers a surface hardness comparable to wood while remaining lightweight, significantly simplifying the installation process.
Size Options and Architectural Scaling
We offer a wide range of sizes to ensure a perfect fit for various room dimensions and ceiling heights. For small-scale spaces, narrow corridors, or projects requiring subtle details, the 111x111x15 mm (P85002A) models are ideal. In standard residential projects where a balanced look is desired, sizes like 128x128x14 mm (P85002D8) and 133x133x20 mm (P85008B) are highly popular. For spacious, high-ceilinged lobbies, hotel projects, or grand living rooms, larger profiles such as 183x183x14 mm (P85002M) and 198x198x14 mm (P85002D15) support architectural integrity. For large-scale frame designs, the 200x200x15 mm (P85002F), the thick-profiled 200x200x20 mm (P85008A), or the majestic 255x255x22 mm (P85016C) models deliver a bold and powerful aesthetic statement.
Advanced Material Technology and Technical Details
Thanks to their rigid polymer structure, these products maintain their shape perfectly under temperature fluctuations ranging from -20°C to +80°C. With a closed-cell structure, the water absorption rate is below 1%, completely preventing swelling, rotting, or mold growth. Additionally, their self-extinguishing property ensures they put out automatically once the flame source is removed. The products are shipped from the factory pre-primed. This factory primer enhances the adhesion of the topcoat paint. However, since paint manufacturers do not offer warranties on surfaces where their own system primer is not applied, applying an additional primer post-installation is optional and entirely up to the customer. As Polure, we do not provide warranties or assume liability for applied topcoats. For outdoor applications, as unpainted PU material may yellow over time, UV-resistant paints must be used to protect against solar radiation.
Advantages of Choosing Plain Molding Corners
Incorporating these specialized corner elements into wall and ceiling decorations provides significant aesthetic and structural advantages:
- Easy Workability: It can be easily sanded, cut, and puttied, allowing for quick correction of any installation errors.
- Lightweight and Safe: Being significantly lighter than plaster, it poses no risk of falling or injury during seismic events like earthquakes.
- High Detail Precision: Manufactured in CNC-assisted steel molds, every piece features exceptionally sharp and smooth lines.
- Complete Moisture Resistance: With a water absorption rate under 1%, it will not swell, peel, or degrade in humid areas like bathrooms.
Usage Areas
Plain Molding Corners offer a versatile range of applications in both residential and commercial projects. Indoors, they serve as elegant intersection points for symmetrical wall framing in living rooms, headboard paneling details in bedrooms, and dado rail divisions in corridors. They are highly favored for creating minimalist partitions in hotel lobbies, restaurants, and modern office spaces. With a water absorption rate of under 1%, they can be safely installed in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens. For exterior applications, they function as aesthetic and protective transition elements at the corner joints of window jambs, building floor moldings, and door frames, provided they are finished with a UV-resistant paint.
Installation
To ensure a long-lasting installation, follow these technical steps in order: 1) Surface Preparation: The wall or ceiling surface must be completely dry, clean, and free of dust. 2) Alignment: Mark the corner points precisely on the wall using a laser level. 3) Adhesion: Apply only polyurethane (PU) construction adhesive to the back of the product; silicone adhesives must never be used. 4) Mechanical Fastening: It is MANDATORY to secure the product mechanically with screws to prevent slippage and ensure safety while the adhesive cures. 5) Finishing Touches: Cover screw heads and joints with an exterior-grade putty. Once dry, smooth the surface using 180-220 grit sandpaper. Complete the process with 2 coats of paint after an optional extra primer coat. For exterior installations, joints must be sealed with exterior putty, and UV-resistant paint must be applied.
Care Information
Thanks to its rigid, closed-cell structure, maintaining the Plain Molding Corner is exceptionally easy. It can be effortlessly cleaned of dust and dirt using a damp, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive chemicals, acidic solvents, or harsh brushes during cleaning; instead, opt for mild soapy water. The material is highly impact-resistant and will not crack, shrink, or expand over time. If you wish to change the color or refresh the look years later, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted.
