This interior, reminiscent of a modern exhibition space or a sophisticated entrance hall, proves how classical architectural figures can be reimagined through contemporary technology. The neutral transition between matte gray wall tones and beige marble flooring emphasizes the vertical element at the center of the room. A hidden light strip on the ceiling and spotlighting enhance the depth of the space while highlighting the rich texture of the polyurethane decorations. Minimalist furniture choices and mirrored details balance the dominant character of the classical column.
The centerpiece of the design, an Ionic order column, consists of Polure products with high detail precision. While the voluted capital (P5930B) and base (P5830) remain faithful to traditional architectural disciplines, the segmented body design (P5230I) breaks conventional patterns. This special two-piece body structure adds a futuristic atmosphere to the space with soft lighting placed in the gap. Auxiliary elements (KASUT30A) and (KASUT30B) used in this design complete the column's connection to the ceiling and floor with seamless aesthetics.
The polyurethane precast production technique preferred in this project ensures that the sharp lines in the fluted channels and the fine motifs on the capital appear flawless. Thanks to custom cutting performed with CNC technology, the gaps for lighting elements were created with millimetric precision. Due to its lightweight structure, this massive column can be quickly applied using standard mounting adhesives without putting any additional structural load on the floor or ceiling. Furthermore, the impact-resistant nature of the material offers long-lasting use in high-traffic areas like corridors.
For users wishing to create a similar atmosphere, these types of illuminated columns can function as room dividers in large halls or as decorative night lamps in corners. Dark wall colors like anthracite or smoke will make the white polyurethane texture and internal lighting even more striking. For a more classical look, the column capital can be colored with gold leaf details; however, for a modern-minimalist line, pure white (matte paint) as seen in the photo is the ideal choice.
Design Details
The play of light and shadow emphasizes the vertical grooves of the column, adding volumetric depth to the space. The circular forms of the Ion capital create an aesthetic contrast that softens the sharp geometric lines throughout the room. The asymmetric broken line in the column body reinforces the focal point by transforming a classical object into a piece of modern art. The column base, matching the floor color, creates an illusion of the structure rising organically from the ground. Light leaking from inside the column provides both indirect lighting and highlights the smooth surface quality of the material.
