Architectural Accents for Rustic Ceiling Designs
In modern interior design, where traditional architectural elements are reimagined through advanced engineering, ceiling details define the entire character of a space. Designed to ensure aesthetic continuity at the joints of faux wood ceiling beams, our rubber beam straps bring the historic charm of cast-iron bands into contemporary interiors. Ideal for concealing seams where beams meet on wide-span ceilings, these flexible decorative straps add depth and structural authenticity to any ceiling layout.
Functional Benefits of Flexible Rubber Construction
Our premium beam straps are manufactured from a highly flexible, rubber-based compound. This pliable structure allows them to conform perfectly to circular, curved, or multi-angled beam profiles. Unlike heavy, traditional iron bands, their lightweight design adds zero structural load to the ceiling, ensuring quick and effortless installation. Featuring a closed-cell structure with water absorption below 1%, they resist rotting, rusting, and warping. The surface details, mimicking hand-forged metal and rivets, deliver an authentic, handcrafted historical look.
Surface Preparation and Priming Standards
Our products are shipped pre-primed with a factory-applied base coat, preparing the surface for optimal topcoat adhesion. However, paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee paint adhesion without the use of their own proprietary system primers. Consequently, applying an additional primer coat post-installation is optional and at the customer's discretion. Polure does not assume liability or offer warranties for the longevity or performance of third-party paints applied to our products. For interior applications, water-based or synthetic paints are suitable, whereas exterior installations strictly require UV-resistant coatings to prevent discoloration.
System Integration and Aesthetic Harmony
These specialized accessories are designed to integrate seamlessly with Polure’s high-density (150-200 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane faux beams. While they effectively conceal hairline gaps at beam joints, they can also be spaced at regular intervals to create a decorative rhythm. Whether your design is classic, rustic, industrial, or neoclassical, these straps serve as the perfect finishing touch for any ceiling composition.
Usage Areas
Our rubber beam straps provide functional and aesthetic solutions wherever ceiling beams and rafters are utilized. Indoors, they serve as elegant joint covers in restaurants, hotel lobbies, cafes, rustic cabins, and traditional residential ceilings. Thanks to their moisture-resistant properties, they can be safely installed in high-humidity areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Outdoors, they are ideal for accentuating beam details on porches, patios, pergolas, and entryways. Their highly flexible nature also allows them to be used as decorative flexible borders or trim on column capitals and arched entryways.
Installation
For a long-lasting installation of flexible decorative straps, follow these steps carefully. First, ensure the beam surface is completely dry, clean, and dust-free. Measure the beam circumference accurately, then cut the strap using standard cutting tools (a 45-degree miter cut is recommended for neat joints). During installation, use only high-quality polyurethane (PU) construction adhesive; silicone-based adhesives must not be used. Once the adhesive is applied, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to secure the strap tightly around the beam. Conceal screw heads and joints with a suitable exterior-grade filler, then sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper. After applying an optional primer coat, finish with two coats of paint. For outdoor applications, a UV-resistant paint is required.
Care Information
Our rubber beam straps require virtually no maintenance. Thanks to their closed-cell structure, they do not accumulate dust or dirt. For cleaning, simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals and stiff brushes. Mild, solvent-free soapy water can be used to extend the life of the paint. Because the material is completely moisture-resistant, it will not swell, crack, or peel, preserving its original look for years.
