In architectural design, the texture and movement of wall surfaces define the volumetric perception and prestige of a space. The Moulding collection by Polure blends classical palace aesthetics with modern engineering to add depth to walls and ceilings. Developed as a durable alternative to fragile plaster ornaments and moisture-sensitive wood, these profiles are manufactured using high-density rigid polyurethane (PU) technology. Preferred by interior designers and project specialists who demand premium quality, these designs bring a sophisticated identity to any interior.
Moulding Solutions and Aesthetic Proportions in Interior Design
Inspired by the golden ratio of classical architecture, our patterned borders and ornate moulding profiles provide the perfect foundation for creating symmetrical frames and wall paneling. Each profile used in wall partitioning should be selected based on the ceiling height and width of the space. For instance, slim profiles that emphasize vertical lines and make ceilings appear higher are frequently preferred in modern and neoclassical projects. In contrast, for high-ceilinged, prestigious areas like grand salons or hotel lobbies, designers choose bolder, deeply detailed patterns to establish a striking focal point. This transforms flat, ordinary walls into dynamic surfaces enriched by the interplay of light and shadow.
Technical Superiority: High-Density Structure
The Polure decorative wall moulding series is engineered with a high-density rigid polymer formula (150-200 kg/m³) for outstanding technical performance. This density matches the hardness and impact resistance of wood while keeping the material exceptionally lightweight. Being approximately 90% lighter than traditional plaster, these profiles do not add dead load to structures, offering a distinct advantage for seismic safety. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the water absorption rate is under 1%, ensuring the material will never rot, swell, or warp even in highly humid environments. Maintaining its structural integrity in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, this durable material is also flame-retardant and self-extinguishing, ensuring safe application.
Functionality and Dimensional Variety in Projects
Our extensive product range offers tailored solutions for design needs of any scale. For elegant and balanced wall paneling, the P82009 model (23x2440x42 mm) stands out with its ideal depth and fine craftsmanship. For projects seeking more pronounced, classical details, the P82010 model (24x2418x40 mm) effortlessly brings historical textures into modern spaces. Designers looking to add subtle detail without compromising minimalist lines will find the P82012 model (16x2440x47 mm) to be the perfect alternative. In applications aiming for a bolder, more substantial border look, the P82015 (27x2400x50 mm) and P82017 (24x2440x50 mm) models are preferred to define horizontal or vertical boundaries. In high-aesthetic environments like hotel projects and restaurants, the P82019 (17x2440x52 mm) and P82022 (17x2440x56 mm) models inject dynamism into wall panels through light-catching depth. Finally, the P82024 model (21x2440x59 mm) offers versatile transitions for both interior and exterior facades, while the P82052 model (38x2440x88 mm) delivers a majestic presence in large-scale monumental designs, showcasing the sheer richness of our collection.
A Long-Term Investment: Durability and Restoration
These rigid polymer-based profiles are highly impact-resistant and shatterproof. During production, the surfaces are coated with a specialized factory primer, which ensures excellent adhesion for water-based or synthetic paints post-installation. Because raw polymer can yellow over time under direct sunlight, UV-resistant paints must be used for exterior applications. The ability to paint the products in any color after installation ensures seamless adaptation to future decor changes. In the event of minor accidental damage, surface imperfections can easily be repaired with a simple filler and 180-220 grit sandpaper before repainting. This easy restoration makes the lifespan of these products virtually equal to the lifespan of the building itself.
Usage Areas
Thanks to their versatile design capabilities, our wall moulding models fit seamlessly into a wide range of spaces, from residential to commercial projects. In interiors, they add sophistication to living and dining room walls through classical framing and wainscoting. They are ideal for creating an elegant backdrop behind headboards in bedrooms, or defining a protective, stylish chair rail line along corridors and stairwells. With a water absorption rate under 1%, they can be safely used for mirror frames or ceiling transitions in high-humidity wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. For exterior designs, they serve as window surrounds, decorative horizontal bandings (mid-band cornices) between floors, or grand pediment details around entrance doors. For outdoor applications, coating the profiles with a UV-resistant exterior paint after installation is essential to protect them from sunlight.
Installation
For a precise and long-lasting installation, the following technical steps must be carefully followed:\n1. Surface Preparation: Ensure the wall or ceiling surface is completely dry, clean, and smooth. Scrape off loose paint and remove all dust.\n2. Planning: Use a laser level to mark the layout lines on the wall with a pencil.\n3. Cutting: To achieve flawless corner joints, cut 45-degree angles using a professional miter saw.\n4. Adhesive Application: Apply beads of specialized Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive or a high-quality PU adhesive (such as Polure Polfix) to the back of the mouldings. Never use silicone-based adhesives.\n5. Mechanical Fixing: It is mandatory to secure the profiles mechanically with screws or brad nails to prevent slipping and ensure maximum bond strength while the adhesive cures.\n6. Finishing Touches: Fill joints and screw holes with a high-quality joint filler. Once dry, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, apply primer, and finish with at least two coats of paint. For exterior applications, use specialized exterior filler and UV-resistant paint on joints.
Care Information
Thanks to its high-density structure, maintenance is minimal. For routine cleaning, simply dust with a slightly damp, soft microfiber cloth. Never use abrasive chemicals, acidic solvents, or stiff brushes that could damage the surface. Its closed-cell structure with less than 1% water absorption guarantees no warping or rotting upon contact with water. Indoors, these products offer a lifespan exceeding 20-25 years, provided they are not subjected to severe impacts. In case of accidental mechanical damage, the affected area can easily be restored to its original state by filling it with acrylic filler, sanding it smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and applying a local touch-up paint.
