Exterior Pilaster Base
Polure exterior pilaster bases form solid architectural grounding for building facade pilasters, entrance portals, and exterior wall framing. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), these exterior bases feature wood-like mechanical strength and hail-resistant durability, protecting wall bases from impact damage. Engineered with a closed-cell polymer structure with water absorption under 1%, they will never rot, swell, warp, or harbor mold despite constant rain, snow, or frost exposure. Thermally stable across extreme temperatures from -100 °C / +80 °C and rated B2 for fire safety, they come pre-treated with factory white acrylic primer. Note: Polure pilaster bases are decorative and NON-LOAD-BEARING. Installation requires continuous PU assembly adhesive along rear and joint edges combined with mechanical countersunk screws. Fill joints with facade filler, sand lightly (180-220 grit), and paint with UV-resistant exterior facade paint.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Polure exterior pilaster base support facade structural weight?
No, Polure exterior pilaster bases are decorative and NON-LOAD-BEARING; structural facade loads must be supported by main building walls.
What material is used to manufacture exterior pilaster bases?
They are made of high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), providing hail resistance, B2 fire rating, and high mechanical strength.
Will an exterior pilaster base rot or deteriorate in rain and frost?
No, with water absorption under 1% and thermal resistance from -100 °C / +80 °C, it will not rot, swell, or deteriorate outdoors.
How is an exterior pilaster base installed?
It is installed using continuous PU assembly adhesive and mechanical screws. Joints and screw heads are sealed with facade putty and sanded.
