Polyurethane Pediments

Polure polyurethane pediments are classical architectural headers designed to crown door surrounds, window frames, and exterior entrance portals with regal dignity. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), these pediments deliver exceptional impact resistance capable of withstanding severe environmental exposure. Polyurethane closed-cell technology restricts water absorption to under 1%, ensuring they will never rot, warp, or split between -100 °C / +80 °C. Factory-finished with a white acrylic primer layer, they provide an ideal base for water-based, synthetic, or exterior paints. Installation involves clean substrate preparation, applying continuous PU assembly adhesive along mounting contact edges and joint lines, and securing with screws. Screw heads and seams are puttied, sanded smooth (180-220 grit), and painted with protective topcoat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What density material is used for polyurethane pediments?

They are molded from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), providing wood-like strength and durability.

Are polyurethane pediments suitable for outdoor installation?

Yes, water absorption is under 1%, making them fully weatherproof against rain, frost, and rot.

How are polyurethane pediments mounted to building surfaces?

They require a dual mounting system of continuous PU assembly adhesive and mechanical screw fastening.

What paint finish should be applied to polyurethane pediments outdoors?

Outdoors, they must be painted with an elastic, UV-resistant exterior paint over the white factory primer.
