Outdoor Column Pedestal
Polure outdoor column pedestal provides an architectural base for exterior decorative columns, porticos, and garden pergolas. Molded from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this exterior base block offers stone-like impact resistance while remaining lightweight for single-installer positioning. Designed with a hollow center, it is strictly NON-LOAD-BEARING and must encompass an internal structural core or steel profile; pouring concrete inside is strictly forbidden. Its closed-cell physical composition ensures water absorption stays below 1%, making it completely immune to moisture, frost cracking, and mold growth. Rated B2 for fire safety and thermally unyielding between -100 °C / +80 °C, it comes pre-primed with factory white acrylic. Installation requires clean, level substrate surfaces. Apply a continuous bead of polyurethane assembly adhesive on joint faces; silicone sealant is strictly forbidden. Mechanical screw fixing is required for outdoor permanence; screw depressions are filled with facade putty, sanded flat with 180-220 grit paper, and finished with elastic UV-resistant exterior paint.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Polure outdoor column pedestal carry structural building loads?
No. It is hollow and strictly non-load-bearing. Any structural load must be sustained by an internal steel column profile.
Can concrete be poured inside the outdoor column pedestal?
No. Concrete must NEVER be poured inside polyurethane pedestal elements as expansion will destroy the unit.
What material is used to mold the outdoor column pedestal?
It is molded from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), offering high impact resistance and B2 fire class performance.
How is the outdoor column pedestal installed and finished?
Mount using PU assembly adhesive and mechanical screws (silicone is forbidden). Fill screw holes with putty, sand, and coat with elastic UV exterior paint.
