Exterior Facade Pillars
Polure exterior facade pillars provide stately neoclassical elegance and architectural grandeur to residential entrances, porticos, and commercial building facades. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), these pillars feature wood-like mechanical strength and hail resistance without adding massive structural loads to building foundations. Available in standard diameters such as 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80 cm, they can be configured as full round columns or half-wall pilasters with smooth, fluted, or twisted shafts. Designed with a hollow core, they serve as decorative claddings for internal steel structural columns. Featuring water absorption under 1%, they resist rot, swelling, and cracking in temperatures from -100 °C / +80 °C. Factory-primed with white acrylic, final installation requires polyurethane assembly adhesive, mechanical screw attachment at joints, and an elastic UV-resistant exterior paint finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Polure exterior facade pillars structural load-bearing components?
No, Polure exterior facade pillars are decorative and non-load-bearing hollow elements. Structural loads must be carried by internal steel profiles.
Can concrete be poured into the hollow core of exterior facade pillars?
No, pouring concrete inside polyurethane pillars is strictly forbidden because concrete expansion will rupture the material.
What diameters and configurations are available for exterior facade pillars?
Standard diameters include 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80 cm in full round or half wall (pilaster) configurations with smooth, fluted, or twisted shafts.
How are exterior facade pillars installed on exterior walls?
Position around structural core, apply continuous PU assembly adhesive on all contact edges, secure with countersunk mechanical screws (and screw joints to each other), fill joint seams, and paint with UV-resistant exterior paint.
Do exterior facade pillars require special exterior paint?
Yes. Although pre-primed, they must be painted with an elastic, UV-resistant exterior facade paint to prevent UV degradation and yellowing.
