In architectural design, window and door surrounds serve as critical focal points that define a building's aesthetic identity and exterior character. Developed by Polure, our Combined Models breathe new life into exterior designs by blending the timeless elegance of traditional stonework with modern engineering. Overcoming the technical limitations of classic marble, hard-to-work wood, or fragile foam materials, this exclusive series is engineered to add depth and prestige to any structure.
Advanced Material Technology and Durability
Our Combined Models are manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³). This density delivers a surface hardness comparable to wood while maintaining a lightweight profile that avoids adding unnecessary load to the building structure. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the water absorption rate is below 1%, providing exceptional resistance against rain, snow, and humidity. With a temperature resistance ranging from -20°C to +80°C, these products maintain their dimensional stability under the harshest weather conditions, without warping, shrinking, or expanding.
Design Integrity: A Wide Range of Models
Engineered to complement diverse architectural styles, our collection offers a wide range of options, from grand profiles like KPEN11 (217x2000x2280 mm), KPEN29 (257x2080x2330 mm), and KPEN30 (220x2160x2660 mm) to sleek, minimalist lines. Polyurethane window trims and matching pediment-sill combinations frame your windows like works of art. Thanks to the factory-applied primer coat, the surface is perfectly smooth and ready for easy painting with water-based or synthetic paints.
Why Choose PU Over Traditional Alternatives?
- Vs. Plaster: Unlike fragile plaster, it is highly impact-resistant and will not swell or blister in humid environments.
- Vs. Wood: It is completely immune to rotting, insect infestations, and warping over time.
- Vs. EPS Foam: It offers significantly higher surface hardness, preventing damage from birds or external impacts, and retains its sharp, crisp details for a lifetime.
Usage Areas
Our Combined Models are the premier choice for exterior window trim applications in luxury villas, hotels, and prestigious public buildings. They are widely used to ensure visual continuity around entrance doors, French balconies, and large storefronts. For interior design, they can be combined with ceiling medallions and wall panels to create aesthetic harmony as decorative window frames, fireplace surrounds, large mirror frames, or grand archways.
Installation
For a successful installation, the application surface must first be clean, dry, and level. Combined Model components should be mitered at a 45-degree angle at corner joints using professional cutting tools. During installation, apply a specialized adhesive (such as Polure Polfix) to the back surface and joints; silicone adhesives must never be used. Mechanical fastening to the wall using screws is mandatory for safety. Screw heads and joints should be filled with exterior-grade filler, then sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Finally, apply a primer followed by two coats of UV-resistant exterior paint.
Care Information
Featuring a closed-cell structure, these durable exterior elements offer virtually zero maintenance costs. Surface dirt, dust, or mud can be easily cleaned using mild soapy water and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals. High-pressure washers should not be sprayed directly onto the surface, as they may damage the material. Any hairline joint cracks that may develop over time due to building settling can be repaired in minutes using exterior filler and touch-up paint.
