Fireplaces and Aesthetic Balance in Classical Architecture
As one of the most prestigious focal points of classical architectural design, fireplaces are essential elements that establish visual hierarchy in spacious areas such as living rooms and lobbies. The fireplaces in the Polure collection bring palace-like elegance to living spaces by combining traditional designs with modern engineering. One of the most critical components establishing the symmetrical balance of these designs is the fireplace right leg models. Supporting the right side of a classical fireplace mantel, this decorative fireplace column offers eye-catching depth with its delicate acanthus leaves, fluted lines, and embossed motifs. For architects seeking a high-density, lightweight polyurethane fireplace leg, these components offer the most practical way to achieve flawless symmetry in their projects.
Durability and Detail: Rigid PU Technology
Fireplace components in the Polure collection are manufactured from rigid PU material produced at a density of 150-200 kg/m³. This density provides a surface hardness close to wood while keeping the product exceptionally lightweight. Unlike traditional materials such as wood or stone, Polure fireplace elements do not absorb moisture, crack, or lose dimensional stability over time. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, making the product long-lasting in all indoor and even semi-outdoor spaces. The factory-primed surface perfectly holds all water-based and synthetic paints, ensuring a flawless, smooth finish.
Why Choose Polure Over Plaster or Wood?
- Lightweight and Structural Safety: Extremely lightweight compared to plaster or marble alternatives, it does not add to the static load of buildings and can be easily mounted even on drywall.
- High Detail Quality: Thanks to special casting molds, even the most intricate neoclassical and baroque motifs are reflected on the surface with smooth, sharp, and crisp details.
- Flame Retardancy: The rigid PU material, which has high fire resistance, features self-extinguishing properties once the flame source is removed.
- Easy Repair and Longevity: It exhibits high resistance to impacts; in case of potential damage, it can be easily repaired by filling and sanding.
Usage Areas
Our fireplace product line is preferred for creating a prestigious atmosphere, particularly in luxury residential projects, villas, hotel lobbies, and high-end restaurant chains. Indoors, they are used as side pillars around electric fireplace inserts, modern bioethanol units, or purely decorative faux fireplace surrounds. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it is unaffected by moisture, making it safe for use in sunroom designs and indoor pool areas. Additionally, creative interior designers utilize them as decorative legs for console tables, supporting side columns for large mirror frames, or decorative pillars in wall niche designs.
Installation
For a flawless installation, first ensure that the wall surface is dry, clean, and dust-free. The fireplace right leg component should be aligned on the wall with the left leg and top mantel, and guide lines should be drawn. Miter cuts must be precisely made at a 45-degree angle. During the gluing phase, flexible silicone-based adhesives must absolutely be avoided; instead, high-strength PU adhesives such as Polure Polfix should be preferred. After applying the adhesive, it is mandatory to mechanically secure the parts to the wall using screws. Screw holes and joints should be filled with high-quality putty and smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Finally, the installation is completed by applying one coat of primer and two coats of water-based interior paint to the factory-primed surface.
Care Information
Manufactured from rigid PU material, our fireplace elements are maintenance-free, long-lasting structures that retain their shape for years. For cleaning, using only a damp, soft microfiber cloth is sufficient. Harsh chemicals such as thinners, bleach, or abrasive powder detergents that could damage the surface must never be used. If you wish to refresh the color due to a change in decor, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted with water-based paints. Minor scratches caused by impacts can be completely resolved with local painting after filling with ready-to-use acrylic putty and sanding.
