Modern architectural philosophy demands functional, aesthetically clean solutions for interior spaces, free from unnecessary ornamentation. The transition where walls meet ceilings is a critical area that directly influences the visual harmony of any room. Designed to conceal asymmetrical structural imperfections while adding refined depth, minimalist ceiling profiles and plain cornice moldings have become indispensable elements of contemporary interior design. Manufactured from high-density polyurethane, these specialized profiles eliminate the weight and fragility issues associated with traditional plaster, adding lasting value to modern projects.
Our collection offers an extensive range of profiles, starting from minimal dimensions like 40x45 mm up to monumental sizes of 175x175 mm. For instance, the P83004 (40x2400x45 mm) model elegantly defines wall and ceiling boundaries in compact spaces, providing a spacious and airy finish in projects with lower ceiling heights. Conversely, large-scale profiles such as P83091 (175x2400x175 mm) and P831212 (127x2400x127 mm)—ideal for high-ceilinged luxury residences, hotel lobbies, or grand galleries—accentuate vertical volume and enhance architectural character. Produced in standard 2.4-meter lengths, these profiles ensure rapid on-site installation while minimizing joints for a seamless, continuous appearance.
Advanced Technology and Structural Stability
At Polure production facilities, we utilize high-precision CNC mold technologies and advanced casting techniques. This process guarantees that every profile maintains identical cross-sectional dimensions and a flawless surface finish along its entire length. The closed-cell structure at the core of these products maximizes physical durability. With a density of 150-200 kg/m³, these profiles offer the hardness and impact resistance of wood, yet remain completely unaffected by moisture, water, and biological factors. Exhibiting high dimensional stability against temperature fluctuations, the material retains its shape without shrinking or expanding even under harsh environmental conditions ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
Comparative Advantages Over Traditional Materials
Plaster-based products, widely used in the construction sector for years, add unnecessary load to building statics due to their heavy weight and tend to crack over time as the building settles. Additionally, the hygroscopic nature of plaster leads to blistering and crumbling in damp environments. Lightweight alternatives like Styrofoam (EPS) are highly susceptible to impacts due to their low density and cannot hold sharp, crisp details. In contrast, the modern cornice alternatives in the Polure collection are lightweight, making them easy to transport and install. Thanks to their high-density structure, they resist impacts without denting or breaking. With a water absorption rate below 1%, they can be safely installed even in high-humidity wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
Selecting the Right Scale for Different Spaces
Choosing the correct profile size is a critical step for a successful ceiling design. Interior designers typically refer to the following scaling guidelines in their projects:
- For Minimalist Spaces: In hallways, small bedrooms, or bathrooms, narrow polyurethane plain cornices like the P83004 model make ceilings appear higher.
- For Standard Residential & Office Spaces: In standard projects with ceiling heights of 2.60 to 2.80 meters, balanced models like P81601 (100x2400x100 mm) or P81321 (49x2400x99 mm) provide an ideal transition.
- For Grand and Spacious Volumes: In high-ceilinged areas such as villa living rooms, historic restaurants, and grand lobbies, majestic models like P83091 (175x2400x175 mm) define ceiling boundaries with a prestigious aesthetic.
Paint-Friendly Factory Primer
All of our products leave the production line pre-coated with a high-quality factory primer. This protective layer ensures excellent adhesion for water-based, acrylic, or synthetic paints post-installation. Its smooth texture reduces paint consumption while preventing brush or roller marks. When used in areas exposed to UV rays, such as outdoor eaves, UV-resistant exterior paints should be preferred to prevent yellowing. This long-lasting system can be sanded, puttied, and repainted years later to restore its original pristine look.
Sustainability and Longevity
Developed in line with Polure's eco-friendly production vision, these architectural elements eliminate the need for frequent renovations due to their long lifespan. Unlike timber, they do not require deforestation, and unlike plaster, they do not continuously generate dust or crumble, thereby preserving indoor air quality. The closed-cell structure, which contributes to thermal and acoustic insulation, supports energy efficiency. If you are looking for a long-term, maintenance-free, and durable solution for your projects, our plain ceiling cornices and modern ceiling profiles offer the most rational investment.
Usage Areas
Thanks to their high durability and completely waterproof nature, these plain ceiling profiles serve versatile application scenarios. Indoors, they are highly preferred in modern living rooms and minimalist bedrooms to conceal wallpaper transitions and create elegant borders. They can be safely installed in high-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and spas without losing their shape. In commercial projects, they provide an aesthetic finish that defines ceiling boundaries in hotel corridors, restaurant dining rooms, and art galleries. In semi-outdoor areas, particularly under eaves and porch transitions, they can be coated with UV-resistant paint to serve as modern polyurethane ceiling profiles, enhancing the building's exterior aesthetics.
Installation
Installing Polure ceiling profiles requires precise execution of specific technical steps to achieve professional results:\n\n1) Surface Preparation: The wall and ceiling joint surfaces must be completely dry, clean, and load-bearing. Dusty, greasy, or loose painted surfaces must be cleaned beforehand.\n2) Cutting: The 2.4-meter profiles must be cut at a precise 45-degree angle using professional miter boxes or compound miter saws for corner joints.\n3) Gluing: A high-strength PU adhesive, such as Polure Polfix, should be applied to the specialized channels on the back of the profile. Silicon-based adhesives must not be used.\n4) Mechanical Fastening: To prevent slipping during the curing process and ensure safety, it is mandatory to secure the profiles to the wall/ceiling with screws at regular intervals.\n5) Finishing: Screw holes and joints must be filled with a high-quality filler, and once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Finally, a primer should be applied, followed by at least two coats of paint to complete the process.
Care Information
Maintenance of Polure smooth ceiling profiles is extremely practical. For daily cleaning, dusting with a soft feather duster or a slightly damp microfiber cloth is sufficient. Harsh chemicals, acidic solvents, bleach, or abrasive scouring pads must be avoided, as they can damage the paint layer. Light surface dirt can easily be wiped away with a cloth dampened with mild soapy water. Any minor impact damage that may occur over the years can be easily repaired with standard fillers and spot-painted to look brand new.
