The P7149 is an oval-shaped decorative element designed to create a grand focal point on spacious ceiling surfaces. It is an ideal ceiling ornament, particularly for living rooms with classic architectural details, wide entryways, and prestigious commercial spaces. Beautifully framing chandelier centers, this product adds depth and architectural character to the ceiling plane.
Offering a distinct volume with its generous dimensions of 740x1100 mm and a thickness of 45 mm, this model is manufactured from high-density (150-220 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane. This durable structure, matching the hardness of wood, is exceptionally lightweight compared to plaster alternatives and completely eliminates risks of cracking or breaking. Thanks to its closed-cell structure with a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it retains its shape even in humid environments.
Its design features symmetrical acanthus leaves, classic scrolled reliefs, and an oval center medallion detail. Its sharp lines, reminiscent of fine hand-carving, create a rich texture on the ceiling through the interplay of light and shadow. Bringing the details of traditional palace architecture together with modern manufacturing precision, this model perfectly completes the ceiling composition of large-scale spaces.
It can be safely used both indoors and on exterior ceilings (under eaves, porches, or patio ceilings) when coated with UV-resistant paint. The product is delivered with a factory-applied white primer. This factory primer facilitates the adhesion of the topcoat; however, applying an additional primer for paint manufacturers' system warranties is entirely at the user's discretion.
It offers a superior alternative to the weight and crumbling issues of traditional plaster, as well as the moisture sensitivity of wood. Installation is carried out by applying Polure Polfix adhesive to a clean surface, followed by mechanical fastening with screws for safety. Once screw heads and joints are puttied and sanded, it becomes ready for the final coat of paint.
- Due to its oval shape, this ceiling medallion offers a perfect layout for ceilings with a longitudinal axis, such as rectangular living rooms, spacious dining rooms, and hotel lobbies
- Positioned at the mounting center of chandeliers, it visually enhances the lighting fixture
- In addition to being used indoors on living room, hallway, and bedroom ceilings, it is also preferred for indoor pool ceilings due to its moisture resistance
- Outdoors, when coated with UV-resistant paint, it creates a prestigious entrance statement on grand villa entryways, under eaves, and columned porch ceilings
- Ensure the ceiling surface for installation is dry, clean, and smooth
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product and press it onto the ceiling
- For added safety around heavy chandelier centers, the product should be mechanically secured using wall plugs and screws suitable for the ceiling type
- Screw heads and ceiling joints are filled with acrylic caulk
- Once dry, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional additional primer coat, the process is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- By nature, polyurethane is moisture-resistant
- Avoid using abrasive, acidic, or highly solvent-based chemicals during cleaning
- Dust can be easily removed with a slightly damp, soft cloth
- If color fading occurs over time or when a decoration update is desired, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted
Can the P7149 ceiling medallion be used under outdoor eaves?
Yes, our product is moisture-resistant thanks to its closed-cell structure. It can be safely used on outdoor eaves, porches, or open patio ceilings. However, since it will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and sunlight, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint after installation.
Which adhesive should be used for product installation?
To ensure perfect adhesion and long-lasting durability during installation, Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive, specially developed for this purpose, should be used. Silicone-based adhesives are not recommended. Additionally, mechanical fastening with screws must be performed for safety.
What are the advantages compared to plaster ceiling medallions?
Plaster medallions are very heavy and fragile; they are difficult to install and can crumble over time due to moisture. Our polyurethane ceiling medallion, on the other hand, is extremely lightweight, impact-resistant, and shatterproof. It installs quickly, is lightweight, puts only a limited load on the ceiling, and is moisture-resistant.
Can the product be painted directly, or is a primer required?
Our product is shipped with a special factory-applied surface primer. This primer makes the surface ready for painting. However, since paint brands often recommend using their own primers before the topcoat to validate their product warranties, applying an additional primer is optional and left to the customer's preference.
Is this 74x110 cm medallion suitable for small rooms?
With a length of 110 cm, this model features a very large and grand design. Since it may make the ceiling look cramped in small rooms, it is visually more appropriate to use it in large-volume spaces with a ceiling height of at least 2.80 meters, such as spacious living rooms, entryways, hotel lobbies, or restaurants.
