Frequently Used Together
Designed for those who wish to create a striking focal point in prestigious spaces like living rooms, lobbies, or studies, the P8403W blends the aesthetic lines of traditional stone and wood craftsmanship with modern material technology. This decorative mantel is designed to elevate the ambiance of your living spaces when combined with electric or artificial heating inserts, without requiring a real combustion area.
Featuring dimensions of 480 mm depth, 1446 mm width, and 1050 mm height, the mantel offers perfectly balanced proportions for spacious wall surfaces. Manufactured from high-density (150-220 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane, it provides a surface hardness comparable to wood while remaining remarkably lightweight compared to marble or plaster alternatives. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below one percent, preventing swelling, cracking, or shrinking even in humid environments.
The visual details, featuring asymmetric leaf reliefs, fluted column-like carvings on the side pilasters, and floral reliefs on the upper arch, give the product a classic character. The smooth top shelf provides a spacious flat surface to display your decorative objects, while the deep frame structure at the bottom creates a three-dimensional sense of depth. Delivered with a factory-applied white primer, the surface provides an ideal base for the topcoat paint to adhere perfectly.
This polyurethane architectural element is highly favored as a decorative backdrop not only in residential living rooms but also in hotel lobbies, elegant restaurants, photography studios, and winter gardens. It pairs beautifully with artificial fireplace inserts, provided proper insulation measures are taken to avoid direct contact with heat-emitting devices. Thanks to its lightweight structure, it can be safely installed on mezzanine floors or walls with limited load-bearing capacity.
During installation, Polure Polfix adhesive should be applied to the cleaned surface, and mechanical securing with screws is absolutely required for safety. Once joints and screw holes are filled with a suitable putty and sanded, an optional additional coat of primer can be applied, followed by water-based or synthetic paints. Unlike plaster, this polyurethane structure does not crumble, promising a long-lasting and effortless experience.

Can the polyurethane fireplace mantel be used outdoors?
Yes, the product is highly resistant to water, moisture, and harsh weather conditions. However, if used outdoors, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint to prevent yellowing caused by sunlight. Additionally, an exterior-grade filler should be used for the joints.
Can it be used with real wood-burning or gas fireplaces?
It should not come into direct contact with open flames or extreme heat. The product's dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C. It is perfectly suitable for use with electric, decorative, or gel-fueled fireplaces. For real fireplaces, proper thermal insulation must be provided between the combustion area and the mantel surround.
Is it mandatory to use screws during installation, or is adhesive alone sufficient?
For a secure and long-lasting installation, adhesive alone is not enough. After fixing it to the wall with Polure Polfix adhesive, mechanical securing with screws from hidden points is mandatory. This process prevents the product from sagging or shifting over time.
Can the product be used directly without painting?
The product comes factory-primed in white. If used unpainted, it may yellow over time when exposed to sunlight. Additionally, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee surfaces painted without their own primers, applying an extra coat of primer is optional. For aesthetic integrity and durability, painting the product before use is highly recommended.
What are its advantages compared to plaster or wood fireplaces?
Unlike plaster fireplaces, it is not fragile and will not crack during transport or installation. It does not swell, rot, or attract insects due to moisture like wood. Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure. Its detailed carvings are flawlessly smooth, and its installation is much faster and more practical.
